Learning meditation is one of the most effective ways to train your attention and establish a greater sense of control over the often distractible mind.
There are so many benefits to the simple and accessible practice to increase our quality of life on a daily basis.
Studies have demonstrated the the effectiveness of meditation in increasing concentration, memory, focus, awareness and self esteem. Brain scans on participants in an 8 week mindfulness and meditation program showed an increase in gray matter in the parts of the brain responsible for learning, memory, and emotional regulation. (Harvard University)
Meditation has also been linked to increases in feelings of kindness and compassion and has been demonstrated to help with pain management and emotional regulation. Meditation can also lower levels of stress, anxiety and depression.
Yet despite all of its benefits, establishing a regular home meditation practice can seem daunting. Happiness Yoga is here to help!
Our 8 week Mindfulness and Meditation Course is designed to give you the toolkit you need to create confidence to approach your meditation journey. Practice and theory are offered together in the 60 minute sessions, layered between lots of interactive, immersive experiences that will recharge your batteries and reset your nervous system.
Each week new guided practices will be offered including breathing techniques, sound/Mantra therapy, Yoga Nidra meditation, objects of meditation, moving meditation and visualisation.
The focus of each session is built around one of the pillar of mindful practice.
